Van Persie makes quick comeback for Barcelona face-off
Robin van Persie will likely be included in the Arsenal squad for Tuesday’s Champions League game against FC Barcelona. The striker made a speedy recovery after suffering a knee injury that was expected to keep him sidelined until April.
The 27-years-old overstretched his knee scoring the team’s only goal during last week’s Carling Cup final 2-1 loss against Birmingham.
On Monday, Arsenal manager Arséne Wenger was cautiously optimistic about the Rotterdammer’s return, telling reporters his first choice forward would only play if he had returned to top form. “But, he has made quick progress in the last few days,” Wenger said.
Today’s announcement is a boost to Gunner’s odds against Barça where they hold a 2-1 advantage.http://cdn.radionetherlands.nl/data/files/robin_van_persie_anp.jpg
