AMSTERDAM — Police have arrested two men in relation to the murders of two Rotterdam street prostitutes last month.

The bodies of the two women, known as Connie en Jacqueline, were found on 14 October under two semitrailers near the Rotterdam street prostitution zone on the Keileweg. They had been shot.

The suspects, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on Tuesday after police received 17 tips following the broadcast of the crimestopper show Opsporing Verzocht. The programme had reported on the murders on Monday night.

Surveillance camera footage showed two men walking away with the prostitutes from the Keileweg and the men's faces were clearly seen in the video footage.

One of the tips given to police after the broadcast of the show led to the arrest of one of the suspects. The second man was arrested a short while later.
The arrested suspects are reportedly the men seen on the video footage.
