Two adults with children in Dutch crches

The government says there should always be two adults supervising children in Dutch nurseries and day care centres. Ministers say it is too much of a risk for just one person to be in charge of a group of children for any length of time. The statement came in response to a report on the crèche in Amsterdam where a man sexually abused dozens of very young children systematically over a period of years. The government believes even small nurseries will be able to implement quickly the practice of having two people supervising children by, for instance, removing a wall or erecting a glass wall.
