Turkish minister: Wilders not relevant
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Wednesday he would not deign to react to Freedom Party Leader Geert Wilders' stated position on Turkey.
The minister made his remarks during a press conference in Ankara on the occasion of a visit by his Dutch colleague Uri Rosenthal. Minister Davutoglu said he'd much rather emphasise the good relations between Turkey and the Netherlands.
, Mr Davutoglu said. Minister Rosenthal is in Turkey for the Wittenburg Conference, an annual bilateral conference which was first held in 2008. Minister Davutoglu was asked how he felt about Mr Wilders, whose party provides parliamentary support to the VVD - CDA minority cabinet. Mr Wilders has called Turkey a totalitarian state and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan a 'freak'.
