Turkish Airlines investigation still underway

A spokesperson for the Dutch Safety Board has announced that the wreckage of the Turkish Airlines plane will not be removed before Tuesday at the earliest.

AMSTERDAM - The investigation into the cause of the disaster near Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is still underway.

The board hopes to be able to deliver its first findings concerning the cause of the crash on Wednesday. An emergency ordinance designed to keep spectators away is in effect at the site.

Forty-four of the 86 people injured in the crash are still in hospital. One is in a serious condition. Nine people died in the disaster.

On Saturday, members of the Netherlands' Turkish community held a commemorative service near the crash site.

Four of the five Turkish victims were buried in Istanbul on Saturday. A fifth will be buried today.
