AMSTERDAM – The Netherlands Railways NS has come across equipment that allows criminals to copy information from PIN cards in nine train ticket machines. Dozens of travellers have reportedly been duped.

RTV Utrecht has reported this. The fraud took place at the Gouda, Woerden and Putten stations.

RTV says travellers will not be liable for fraudulent deductions from their bank accounts. The NS says it will have all its ticket machines secured against misuse by the end of the month.
