Dutch motoring association the ANWB has issued a rush hour warning for Thursday in the Western conglomeration of the Netherlands due to snow and ice.

The association has warned against serious delays in the rush hour traffic. A spokesperson said motorists can expect extreme delays.

Winter weather in the Netherlands has cause a number of huge traffic jams recently. On 29 November, snow caused tailbacks of almost 900 kilometres in the early evening. The worst ever congestion. Last week, one morning rush hour saw almost 600 kilometres of traffic jams.
