Tilburg's Harley Day cancelled
The mayor of Tilburg has cancelled the annual Harley Day in the town after recieving serious indications that he could not guarantee the safety of visitors.
No mention has been made about the content of the information, but it is thought that rival biker clubs may have been planning a confrontation in the southern Dutch town. Mayor Peter Noordanus has neither denied or confirmed this.
Police have warned people not to come to the event and are posted on roads into town to turn bikers away.
The organisation was informed of the decision on Saturday evening. The mayor says he deeply regrets having to take the decision. A spokesperson for the Harley Day Foundation in Tilburg says they have been left with a huge problem:
