Thousands queue for new World of Warcraft

It was World of Warcraft mania on Wednesday night as thousands queue up throughout Netherlands to buy the latest edition of the game.

THE NETHERLANDS - All over the Netherlands, gamers were queuing up outside computer shops Wednesday night to buy the latest edition of World of Warcraft, one of the world's most popular games.

Around 40 shops opened their doors at midnight to sell second expansion to its World of Warcraft series - Wrath of the Lich King.

At one shop in Rotterdam, more than 1,000 people were waiting to buy the game. Many fans came dressed up as their favourite character from the game.

More than 11 million people throughout the world play the game, which is also available online.
