A third of Dutch family doctors has refused to honour a euthanasia request over the past five years, a recent poll suggests.

The poll, made public by a radio programme on Thursday, was conducted among 800 Dutch doctors.

More than half of them said they had felt pressured at some point by patients or their relatives to carry out euthanasia.
