The Nutcracker: A fairy tale ballet in The Hague, December

19th October 2009, Comments 0 comments

In cooperation with Holland Dance Festival, The Hague-based dance company De Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD) present a unique version of the classic ballet The Nutcracker in the Grote Kerk, Den Haag.

In this 'community art’ production, children and grown-ups, amateurs and professionals work together to tell the story of Clara and her toy figures who come to life, adapted to reflect the city of The Hague and featuring the enchanting music of Tchaikovsky.

Over a hundred dancers; professionals, (international) students, amateurs, children and adults will participate in the twelve performances. Meaghan Hinkis and Irlan Silva, two young upcoming dancing stars from the American Ballet Theatre, New York will dance the famous ‘Pas de Deux’.

The previous three such projects were great, sold-out successes, prompting DeDDDD to turn this project into a tradition.
