AMSTERDAM – The Dutch pay using their PIN card most often in the supermarket. Last year more than 35 percent of all PIN transactions took place in the supermarket.
This emerged from figures published on Monday by Currence, the owner of the PIN and Chipknip payment systems.
After supermarkets, petrol stations (9.5 percent) and clothing shops (8.9 percent) accounted for the most PIN transactions.
More than half of all PIN transactions took place in these three business areas, according to Currence.
