Temporary employment sector reports strong growth in 2014
The Dutch temporary employment sector grew by 7 percent last year, after shrinking 2 percent in 2013, agency umbrella group ABU said on Tuesday.
‘Last year started with growth of 3 percent and ended on 11 percent,’ ABU director Jurriën Koops told website nu.nl.
‘The growth has been strong and was structurally high in the last few months. That means over the year an extra 50,000 people have started work as temps.’
The strongest revenue growth – 11 percent – was recorded in the technology sector.
The number of hours worked by technology sector temps rose 14 percent over the year as a whole but 31 percent in the last four weeks of the year.
