AMSTERDAM – The Telegraaf has received an anonymous letter indicating a location in Portugal where Madeleine McCann might be found. The 4-year-old British girl has been missing for over a month.

The newspaper writes that the letter resembles one it received last year indicating the place where missing Belgian girls Stacey and Nathalie could be found.

That letter was sent before the two murdered children were found by police. The place where the bodies were eventually found was about 2 kilometres from the spot indicated in the letter. The Telegraaf received the letter the day the bodies were found.

The Telegraaf has handed over the letter to Amsterdam police.

Four-year-old Madeleine disappeared from a holiday apartment on the Portuguese south coast in early May. Her parents were recently in the Netherlands to ask for help from any Dutch tourists who may have been in Portugal at the time of the disappearance.
