AMSTERDAM - Technicians, craftsmen and lorry drivers are among the top three employees in the Netherlands ‘employee scarcity’ rankings. This emerged from the annual survey into employees that are ‘most in demand’ carried out by recruitment agency Manpower.

Nursing staff, which ranked second last year, are no longer among the top ten.

Elsewhere in Europe the demand for craftsmen such as plumbers and carpenters has also risen. “The survey clearly shows that there is a shortage of craftsmen in Europe,” Hans Leentjes, the director of Manpower in the Netherlands said.

Manpower interviewed 37,000 employees in 27 countries. In the Netherlands 770 employees were interviewed
