A second teachers' union has agreed to a new pay and conditions deal for secondary school teachers in the Netherlands after months of negotiations.

THE NETHERLANDS - Dissatisfaction over work pressure led to a series of strikes in education in November.

Although teachers are not totally satisfied with the agreements on work pressure they have agreed to vote for the deal.

Under the new deal, secondary school teachers will have an extra 24 hours every year to prepare lessons.

Teachers who prefer to use the time teaching will receive an 800-euro bonus.

Salaries will increase by 7 percent over two years. Another teachers union had already signed up to the deal last month.
