THE NETHERLANDS - Dutch tax officials have received information from the German treasury concerning secret accounts in Liechtenstein.
Nineteen Dutch individuals and two Dutch companies were named on a CD-ROM. The FIOD-ECD, the Dutch Internal Revenue's investigative branch, is now determining whether criminal procedures should be begun.
At the beginning of 2008, a large-scale fraud case came to light when the German police bought a CD-ROM containing information about German citizens using bank accounts in Liechtenstein to avoid taxes. The CD-ROM contained the names of at least 700 German individuals.
