Sven Kramer wins second gold in Vancouver

At the World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships in Vancouver on Saturday, Dutch skater Sven Kramer won gold in the 10-kilometre race.

VANCOUVER - He beat Norwegian speed skater Havard Bokko, who came second and fellow Dutchman Bob de Jong who took the bronze medal. On Friday Sven Kramer won the 5,000 metre race.

In the women's competition, Czech skater Martina Sábliková won the 5,000 metre race. Silver and bronze went to Canadians Clara Hughes and Kristina Groves.

Dutch skater Margot Boer took a bronze medal in the women's 1000 metres in the Richmord Olympic Oval stadium. She crossed the finish line in one hour 16 minutes and 44 seconds. Canada's Christine Nesbitt won gold and Germany's Anni Friesinger won silver.

Sven Kramer's second victory has brought the Dutch medal tally to five. On Thursday Renate Groenewold won gold the 3000 metres and on Friday Ireen Wüst won a silver in the 1500 metres.
