Support lovefood for Movember (prostate cancer research)

2nd November 2010, Comments 0 comments

During Movember (the month formerly known as November), men grow and shape their Mo’s (moustache’s) to raise awareness for men’s health issues and raise essential funds for prostate cancer research projects.

In 2003, 30 Mo Bros took part in Movember. In 2009, 253,843 Mo Bros & Sistas came together as Citizens of Movember around the world, raising more than EUR 31mil for Movember’s global beneficiary partners. To date Movember has raised more than EUR 72mil globally for the fight against prostate cancer,
testicular cancer & depression in men.

Last year was Movember’s first year officially in The Netherlands, with over 950 Mo Bros & Sistas raising funds for the Nederlands Kanker Instituut - Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Ziekenhuis (NKI-AVL), with the money specifically going to a prostate cancer research project.

The idea behind Movember is simple: you start 1st Movember clean shaven and then for the rest of the month you grow and shape your Mo according to the Movember rules. During the month, good people like you will donate online to their favourite individual or team... and this is what we need you to do
right now!

Jason Hartley of Love Food ( has a donation page set up at

"PLEASE support me. every little helps!!!" says Jason.

"And after you’ve made your donation, think about joining in on the fun and registering for the campaign – it’s as simple as entering your details on the Dutch page at

Thanks for your support!

I am looking at organising a special lovefood in support of Movember, details to follow.

Don't forget normal lovefood is November 14th this month.
