AMSTERDAM — Argentinean pole dancer and stripper Maria Vina appears to have upstaged her cousin, Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, again.
A day after it reported that Maxima was pregnant with her second child, newspaper De Telegraaf said on Tuesday that Vina also appears to be expecting her second child.
Maxima is married to Dutch Crown Prince Willem Alexander and their one-year-old daughter, Princess Amalia, is second in line to the throne. Her second pregnancy has not been officially confirmed.
And her cousin Vina, 22, has played up the family link to promote her pole dancing and stripping act. She is based in Buenos Aires, but came to the Netherlands to perform at an event on 3 December organised by the Ex Porn star organisation.
Flyers for the event were headlined "maximaal aan de paal", or maximal on the pole, and featured Vina wearing a crown. Vina also recounted her childhood memories of Maxima on the back of the flyer.
Her performance was such a big hit that she extended her stay in the Netherlands. She was also signed up for a naked photo shoot for the May edition of men's magazine Playboy.
De Telegraaf reported on 19 December that Maxima was pregnant with her second child. Annoyed by the leak, the royal couple cancelled a scheduled interview with the media.
As if to steal Maxima's limelight, her cousin is reportedly six weeks pregnant with her second child.
Rob Muntz of the Ex Porn Star organisation said Vina felt a bit unwell during the Playboy photo session. "She felt a bit grumpy and wondered if she was pregnant," he said.
Her husband, Sebastian, whom she married shortly before coming to the Netherlands, was present when a test confirmed her suspicions. Vina has a child, 5, from a previous relationship.
