British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who is on a visit to the Netherlands, has reached agreement with his Dutch counterpart Maxime Verhagen on intensifying trade relations between the two countries.      The two deputy prime ministers want to build a strategic-economic alliance and investigate whether the two countries can form joint trade missions to emerging markets. Mr Clegg and Mr Verhagen also want to increase cooperation between Dutch and UK companies, for instance in the field of sharing knowledge.

Nick Clegg, the leader of the British Liberal Democrat party, will also meet Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Mr Clegg, a political sympathizer of Mr Rutte, has a Dutch mother and speaks the language fluently.
