AMSTERDAM - Six people were hurt Tuesday morning when a truck collided with a metro train in Rotterdam.
The metro driver was trapped in the cab of the train, in Rotterdam Ommord, after it collided with a truck on an over-ground section of then Caland line at the corner of Prins Alexanderlaan and President Rooseveltweg.
Five passengers were hurt; one was taken to hospital.
A medical team was brought in by helicopter to treat the rest of the wounded.
The train was derailed in the incident, and Rotterdam transport company, RET, has set up a bus service for stranded passengers.
The metro is running from the centre of Rotterdam to Prinselaan, where passengers are taken by bus for the rest of their journey.
The RET predicts the line will be closed for the rest of the day.
