AMSTERDAM – More than half of the Labour party PvdA following (52 percent) wants Wouter Bos to relinquish party leadership now that he is minister. Some 57 percent think that the leader of the party should sit in Parliament.

This emerged from a survey among the opinion panel of television programme EenVandaag, the results of which were announced today.

The panel consists of more than 16,000 people – 3,300 of them participated in this survey. All these participants voted for the PvdA in the last general elections.

Most of these PvdA voters are not happy with the party’s political direction. They think the PvdA should be more left-wing. Just over half say that the party’s standpoints were not represented enough in the coalition agreement.
