ROTTERDAM  - Contrary to earlier speculation by police, the shooting in the Katendrecht area of Rotterdam on Sunday had nothing to do with the killing of 13-year-old Sedar Soares several years ago.

One of the victims wounded in Sunday's incident is Gerald H., formerly the chief suspect in the Soares case.

The public prosecution department said on Tuesday that the motive for the recent shooting was related to an argument between the parties involved.

Another 33-year-old Rotterdam man was also wounded in the shooting. The police have arrested the suspected shooter - a 20-year-old man - and three women aged 14, 25 and 31 suspected of involvement.

H. was treated for gunshot wounds at the Erasmus Medical Centre and is in stable condition.
