Several dozen Dutch dead in Libyan plane crash: ministry
Several dozen Dutch nationals died in the Libyan plane crash at Tripoli airport Wednesday, the Dutch prime minister said.
"I can't say more at this moment than that several dozen" Dutch citizens died as the Afriqiyah Airways plane from Johannesburg crashed around 6:00 am (0400 GMT), Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende told a press conference.
Balkenende said he had been informed that a Dutch child had been the only survivor of the crash, "but I don't have any further details".
The Dutch embassy in Libya had put together a special team to provide assistance and assess the situation on the ground, the premier added.
