Schools to give children emotional support
The Scientific Council for Government Policy has said that schools should give children more support when they are suffering from emotional problems.
THE HAGUE—The council says that assisting school children who are facing financial problems, housing issues or an unwanted pregnancy may help prevent them dropping out.
By offering structure and commitment, schools can become a safe harbour, a counterweight to the chaos and risks of life. The council's report will be presented to Deputy Education Minister Marja van Bijsterveldt later today.
