Schools must do more the increase the acceptance of homosexual students, say Parliament and Minister Plasterk.28 February 2008
THE HAGUE - Schools must do more to increase the acceptance of homosexual students. Both Minister for Emancipation and Education Ronald Plasterk and a majority in Parliament have said this.
Plasterk says a "homo-friendly situation" is very important in the classroom, but that "this is not the case at a great many schools."
Christian Democrat CDA, Labour PvdA, Liberal VVD and Democrats D66 all agree that schools do not devote enough attention to the subject of homosexuality.
