Schiphol Airport kicked off its holiday season Friday. Over 14 million passengers are expected to travel through the Amsterdam hub in the summer months of July, August and September. That is a four percent increase over last year’s figures.

The busiest travel day is scheduled for Friday 22 July. That day alone, an estimated 171,000 people are expected to arrive, transfer or leave the airport. Last year, the biggest travel day was Saturday 31 July with 163,700 travellers.

Schiphol Airport is the sixth largest airport in Europe, according to Airports Council International.
