Safe sex messages on toilet paper in Dutch prisons

A one-week trial will see Dutch prisoners use specially-printed toilet paper advising them on the safe sex and hygiene practices.

The Hague – Specially-printed toilet paper printed with information on safe sex, hygiene and dealing with aggression will be distributed in Dutch prisons.

The special toilet paper is seen as an education tool by the justice ministry who hopes messages will have a positive influence on prisoners’ behaviour.

The toilet paper, which is printed with texts and drawing, carries messages such as ‘wash your hands more often’ and ‘always use a condom, also with a blow-job’.

The ministry will assess the effectiveness of the trial after a week.

Christian Democrat MP Rikus Jager has raised objections to the scheme citing the explicit toilet paper could distress victims of sexual abuse, reports De Telegraaf.
