Rotterdam will on Saturday see the high point of its annual Carribean carnival as a 2.5-kilometre parade winds its way right through the centre of Rotterdam.

At least 900,000 people are expected to gather in the city centre to watch the 2,000 exotically dressed participants dance to Latin music in the streets of the Netherlands’ main port city.

Later on Saturday, 500 couples will attempt to break the world record salsa dancing, which is currently held by 451 couples in Venezuela.
