Roads again icy and slippery

The Dutch weather authorities have issued a fresh warning for the provinces of South Holland, Utrecht and Zeeland, where roads can be icy and slippery.

On some motorways, the maximum speed allowed has been reduced to 50 kilometres per hour. Elsewhere in the country, winter showers can make roads slippery, too. Thick fog and frozen snow can make driving in the centre of the country dangerous.

On Saturday evening, slippery roads caused tailbacks in several places. Between The Hague and Utrecht slippery patches caused cars to crawl in 16 kilometres of tailback.
