The Rijnland Hospital in Leiderdorp is calling patients back for a blood test after it emerged that a needle guide had not been properly cleaned and disinfected.

LEIDERDORP – The Rijnland Hospital in Leiderdorp is calling patients back for a blood test after it emerged that a needle guide had not been properly cleaned and disinfected.

The hospital reports this on its website. The needle guide had been used for prostate punctures.

The hospital says there could be a "slight chance" of infection with hepatitis B. There is also an "extremely slight chance" of infection with hepatitis C and HIV, according to a statement on the case, reported in the AD on Friday.
