UTRECHT – Regional buses will only be running during morning and evening rush hours this week, until 9 am each morning and between 4 pm and 7 pm every evening, to be precise. No tickets will be checked during operation.

The trade unions are protesting the attitude from employers in the deadlocked negotiations on a new collective labour agreement. The unions want a 3 percent pay increase for the approximately 12,000 workers in the sector. The employers are not willing to give more than 2.5 percent

The strikes will start today and continue throughout the week. Buses will stay in the depots between 9 am and 4 pm.

Only regional buses in Limburg will be running normally. Transport company Veolia Limburg reached an agreement with FNV and CNV trade unions over the weekend.
