AMSTERDAM — There was a record number of jab vacancies at the end of September, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.
The CBS said there were 219,000 job vacancies at the end of September. It said the number of vacancies rose by 30,000 in the third quarter.
The biggest growth was recorded in the manufacturing, construction and business services sectors (such as lawyers, accountants and IT specialists).
The previous record dates back to the end of 2000 when there was 213,000 job vacancies, the CBS said.
But Dutch economic growth fell away after that and even went into a nine-month in 2003. The number of jab vacancies declined as a result.
In the third quarter of 2003, a record low of 92,000 job vacancies was reported.
