RWE to invest EUR 6B in wind energy
If the Dutch government approves the energy company’s plan, 400 offshore wind turbines will be built in the North Sea.7 October 2008
AMSTERDAM – German energy company RWE plans to invest EUR 6 billion in the construction of two wind farms in the North Sea, 60 kilometres from the coast.
If the Dutch government approves the plan, 400 wind turbines will be built, providing sustainable electricity for 2.5 million homes.
On Monday the Lower House held a debate on sustainable energy. Economic Affairs Minister Maria van der Hoeven said she would soon propose a plan to make investment in sea-based wind farms more attractive.
