Dutch feminist monthly has named Queen Beatrix "the most powerful woman in the Netherlands". The list of top 100 most influential Dutch women was presented in Amsterdam on Tuesday evening.

It is the first time the queen has been named in the feminist magazine's list. Last year, the editorial team decided not to include members of the royal family because they have not reached their position on their own merits. However, this year the jury decided to make an exception.

The jury said the queen has her own clear opinion and is well informed. "This year she played a key role in the formation of the cabinet." The jury was unanimous in its decision. At the age of 72, the queen is the oldest woman in the top 100.

The top 100 most powerful women is compiled from ten categories ranging from sport and culture to politics and business.
