Public transport strike announced
Public transport staff in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are planning a one-day strike in October, the transport workers' union Abvakabo has said. The date of the strike has not yet been announced.
City bus, tram and metro personnel feel they have no other choice, because earlier industrial action has so far failed to persuade the government to change its plans. They fear government cuts will affect bus and tram services in the cities.
