THE NETHERLANDS - Princess Máxima, the wife of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, will on Tuesday visit a primary school in Nieuwkoop and hand out a teaching package intended to teach children how to handle money.
The scheme is an initiative of the National Institute for Budget Information, or Nibud. The organisation says that learning to handle money should be a standard feature of the curriculum.
Half of all schoolchildren occasionally borrow money and the number of teenagers in serious debt is increasing. Nibud says an earlier campaign in which it handed out 1,000 packages was a success.
