WASSENAAR - Alexia, the second daughter of Crown prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima, turns two today. The celebration will be held at home in Wassenaar. The half-yearly photo session with the royal family will also be held today.

Princess Máxima has returned to work after maternity leave following the birth of third daughter Ariane. She will be leaving this week for Kenya as part of her work for the UN promoting microcredit for small businesses in developing countries.

Both Máxima and Alexander say they find it difficult to spend so much time away from their children, but are very committed to their work in fighting poverty and spreading expertise on water management – the crown prince's special interest. Máxima will be making trips to Bhutan, Pakistan and two trips to India in the autumn.
