Former US President Bill Clinton will visit the Netherlands in late May to address a conference on social issues, the event’s organiser, health insurance provider Achmea says.

The conference will focus on health care, security and mobility, among other topics. In addition to President Clinton, other speakers will include former Green left leader Femke Halsema, writer Geert Mak and ice scater Erben Wennemars.

Around 2,000 tickets are available for the conference. They can be requested at Achmea’s website. Participants will be selected based on their motivation and involvement in the topics to be discussed.

The gathering will take place in the Frisian town of Achlum, with a population of 600, where the insurance company has its roots. Workshops and meetings will be held in farms, homes, churches and tents. President Clinton will deliver an open-air address at the end of the day.
