Many residents in Amsterdam city centre were without power for several hours on Tuesday evening.

AMSTERDAM – Many residents in Amsterdam city centre were without power for several hours on Tuesday evening. Power was restored at about 12.40 am, Nuon reports.

The Kalverstraat, Rokin and Spui had no electricity from about 10.00 pm last night. The police kept a close eye on the shopping district. Traffic lights in the area were functioning, and trams continued to operate as well.

The cause of the outage is still not known.
