Possible bomb found at Dutch train station

Rail traffic through the station of the southern Dutch town of Tilburg has been halted after police found a suspicious suitcase on a platform. Dutch Railways have advised travellers to look for alternative routes.

A wide area around the station was also cleared after the find at the end of the morning, local time. The national bomb squad EOD is on the scene to investigate the small aluminium suitcase.

Mid-afternoon, as the Friday rush hour began, the centre of Tilburg was still out of bounds, while ring roads around the city were getting clogged up. Police have warned road users to avoid Tilburg, if at all possible.
