The Port of Rotterdam has announced very encouraging figures for the first nine months of this year. Transhipment of goods was up by over 13 percent to reach 321 million tons.

The Port Authority reports that this positive development is in evidence almost right across the board, with dry bulk up 31 percent, containers up 15 percent and iron ore and scrap up by an impressive 112 percent.

Only the transhipment of agribulk grain, seeds and raw material for animal feed bucked the positive trend, falling by 7 percent.
