AMSTERDAM – Politicians should not take part in game shows, said outgoing Home Affairs Minister Johan Remkes on Monday during a debate in Leeuwarden on the “drama-democracy.”

The Liberal VVD minister said that it was perfectly fine for politicians to be boring. They should also be “reserved about their private lives.”

Remkes thinks that political issues should dominate the public debate. The liberal said that irrelevant matters from politicians’ private lives are increasingly becoming more of an issue however.
