Police search closes track outside Tilburg
Police in Noord-Brabant have shut down a train track due to a search for potentially armed men.
Rijen – A train track between Tilburg and Breda was taken out of service Friday by police in a search for two men, according to the Brabants Dagblad.
A witness had reported seeing the men in Rijen, a village in Noord-Brabant, early Friday afternoon. The witness told police that one of the men was carrying a firearm.
Police began searching for the men in cornfields near the blocked rail.
Two Apache helicopters from the Gilze-Rijen airbase were called into service, along with the base's thermal cameras.
Police dogs were also used to track the men.
The helicopters were subsequently called off the search after circling the cornfields for two hours.
No train distubances have been reported by the NS.
