14 May 2007, UTRECHT – The police in Utrecht have drawn up a number of measures as part of an action plan to combat nuisance from young troublemakers on the streets of the Ondiep neighbourhood.

UTRECHT – The police in Utrecht have drawn up a number of measures as part of an action plan to combat nuisance from young troublemakers on the streets of the Ondiep neighbourhood.

The measures they plan to implement include keeping a list of 15 well-known troublemakers, possibly introducing a neighbourhood ban on “trouble seekers” from outside the area, and setting up a security cameras. Footage from the security camera will be used to confront troublemakers and possibly their parents with their misconduct.

The police announced this action plan on Monday.

.On 11 March a neighbourhood resident was shot dead by police who showed up after reports of trouble on the streets.
