AMSTERDAM – The police arrested a 46-year-old Terneuzen man on Sunday  who confessed on Friday to having kidnapped a 6-year-old girl for a short time. The police in Zeeland have reported this.

The police tracked down the suspect thanks to tip offs from witnesses in Vogelwaarde, the village in Zeeland from which the girl was taken on Friday.

The girl from Hulst was found again in Ossenisse by a motorist about 15 minutes after having been taken. The child was visibly injured. The police think she was probably pushed out of a car. It is still unclear whether she was sexually abused.

The girl will be questioned by police today in Eindhoven at a special children's facility about what exactly happened.
