HOOFDDORP – Patients of the Spaarne Hospital in Hoofddorp are expected to have online access to their medical files by the end of this year.

An access code will allow the patient to consult his or her own file. Head of computerisation at the hospital M. Bouquet says the system is equipped with the best security.

The Spaarne Hospital says it is the first in Europe to be using Epic, a new information system for hospitals. The system is being introduced in phases.
