Partial eclipse of the sun obscured by cloud

The partial eclipse of the sun almost completely took place behind the clouds this morning in the Netherlands. The only people who could see anything were those with a view of the horizon.

In the Netherlands, the three quarters of the sun was eclipsed by the moon. The eclipse is caused by the moon moving in front of the sun. The maximum eclipse could be seen in northern Sweden.

There were also shooting stars in the skies on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately the view of this spectacle was also obscured by cloud.
