RIJSWIJK - Norbert de Jonge, secretary of the Party for Neighbourly Love, Freedom, and Diversity – better known as the "paedophile party" – is not welcome at Leiden University.
The PNVD party secretary applied for information about the university's Educational Sciences programme. The Executive Board of the university has strongly discouraged him from registering. If he insists on doing so, his application for enrolment will be refused.
De Jonge has dismissed the advice and plans to register, he said on Tuesday. If he is refused he will take the university to court.
De Jonge was turned away by the Education faculty at Radboud University in Nijmegen last year when he applied to enter the programme to become a Remedial Educationalist.
The faculty refused to admit him because he would be working with children. His position as secretary of the PNVD party had become known shortly before he submitted his application. The PNVD wants the age of (sexual) consent to be lowered to 12.
